The Church of St. Nicholas is located at a short distance, northwestern of the Church of The Dormition of Virgin Mary. It was built using thin rectangular limestone blocks and mortar. Bigger blocks, probably from the fortification of the ancient citadel, are inserted in its lower part. More architectural members of earlier pariods can be found in the apse; in specific they are reliefs dated in the late Byzantine period.
The interrior was once entirely decorated with remarkable frescoes, from which only fragments survived untill a few decades ago. Those fragments revealed resemblances to the frescoes in the nearby Church of Tranfiguration, painted by the famous painter Frangos Kontaris.
