The Church of the Dormition of Virgin Mary is located at the southern edge of the village of Klimatia. According to an inscription, the monument was built and wall-decorated in 1618/19 by the painters Dimitrios and Theodoros.
It is a single-space church covered by a vault, with a three-sided apse to the east and a later narthex to the west. It was built mostly from limestone blocks; some bigger ones, at its lower part, are probably taken fron the nearby ancient citadel.
The interrior of the monument was decorated with frescoes in two different phases. The first phase includes the frescoes of the nave and is dated in 1618/19. The second phase (second half of the 19th century) includes the paintings at the lower part of the side walls.
The fragmetary frescoes at the eastern wall of narthex are in bad condition, thus making hard to suggest a date. Finally, the woodcut icon screen is a product of the late 19th century.
