The Church of the Transfiguration of Christ is located on the top of a hill, northwest of the village of Klimatia. It is a small, rectangular, valted building; it is single-spaced with a semi-exagonal apse to the east and a narthex to the west. Its masonry is made of rectangular limestone slabs, mostly in horizontal zones, among which bricks are occasionally inserted.
The frescoes in the interrior are considered one of the most remarkable post-byzantine sets throughout Epirus, created by the famous Theban painter Frangos Kontaris in the year 1568. The frescoes cover the entire nave and the Bema as well; the narthex, being a later addition, is not decorated at all.
The screen of the church and most of its icons are dated to later periods, except some, painted by local artists, which belong to the second half of the 16th century.
